Part 3 (Las Vegas)

The third major part of our year last year was when Rene', Mother, Father, Becky, and I went to Las Vegas to go to the woodworkers conference. I really enjoyed it and even though we spent 3 day's there I still did not see everything, it was so big. I am already planing on going to the next one so that I can keep updated and current on all of the new stuff.
Unfortunately I can not find any pictures of the conference I am sure I took some but I don't know where they are. So you probably already saw these on my mothers blog but she was nice enough to let me use them too.
And of course we had to go on the star trek rides. For those trekkies in the family so far in Rene's pregnancy she is constantly sneezing. Because of this I call her a pregnant Bajoran.

Part 2 (Hogle Zoo)

Since we have been married I have been wanting to go to the zoo. I don't know why but I really wanted to go. So Rene' and I finally went and I must say I really enjoyed it.
Rene' really liked the penguins. They kept huddling in a corner so one of the workers would coax them out so we could see.We were able to catch most of the shows that they do there. Our favorites were the elephant and the bird shows.

Part 1 (Martins Cove)

Sometime in May 2007 Rene' and I went to Martins cove with Rene's father Barry.
With this trip under our belt, Rene' and I have now been to pretty much every major church site since we have been married. Although it was fun and spiritual, I do have to disagree with everybody there and say that it is not the most spiritual place I have ever been. Everybody you talk to goes on and on about how it is the best place to feel the spirit and that you will never feel it stronger anywhere else. Well like I said I disagree, not counting the Temples, I would have to say that I could feel the spirit much stronger at the sacred grove.

A year in review

I have decided that it is hard to make blog posts often when you don't have cute kids to put on the blog. My hat goes off to Becky for her continual posts. When thinking of what to put on here I realized that Rene' and I had quite a busy year last year so the next couple of blogs will be our year in review

One patient wife

Those you who know any of us Barlow's know that we can get just a little obsessed about certain things. Those who were unfortunate enough to marry one of us know that there is nothing you can do but humor us and hope we grow out of it. Luckily for me Rene' is not only patient but she is supportive. She actually will try to listen to my ramblings and occasionally she will humor me and try what I am excited about. I the summer I started working with the scroll saw and was enjoying it immensely. To the point that it was all I would talk about. Rene' put up with me for a long time and even consented to let me teach her how to do it. These pictures are of Rene's first attempt at it and if I do say so myself she was quite good at it.
She started by cutting out a duck puzzle.
Here is the final result.

Foldable Footstools

These are the foldable footstools that I made. Father and I designed them to fit under my couch as you can see. I have had several people inquire about how to get one. I would be happy to make them for you but I will have to charge for them. I don't know how much they would cost but I would make sure to customize it to your couch and your color preferences. Feel free to ignore Ryan's comment on the previous blog (the one he signed as me.)
I also thought that I would show a picture of one of the couches that we bought. We are very happy with them and love to sleep on them. Rene' has slept through the night on them several times because it is the only way she is comfortable.

My two future baby's

This is for you Lonna.

This is Rene':
We went to the Dr. appointment on Monday. The Dr. couldn't hear the heartbeat, so he had to do an ultrasound. We got to see the heartbeat and take home pictures. This picture was taken at 10 weeks and 4 days. The due date is September 4th. Everything is going well, and we are so excited!

Disclaimer: Everything Chris says is him, not me. I have no influence over him.

This is Chris:
I usually don't like to look at these pictures because I really don't care. But this is my baby and I care now, so here is the picture. If you were like me and don't like looking at these kind of pictures, then don't look.
Lonna just for you I included the picture of a machine I will be purchasing in the future. I am already designing the room for it and have already picked out a name for it. You are looking at the future Joseph Christopher Barlow (The machine not the baby.)

Family foot stool (Mother and Father)

This many of you will recognize it is the foot stool I made for my mother and father when I was in high school. It has seen a lot of use but is still going strong. I am quite proud of this piece because I was able to match all four legs on the lathe, which is very difficult to get perfect but what can I say, I Was Victorious!

Ceder Chest (Becky)

I thought I would start with the Projects I made in high school. This is a ceder chest I built for becky.

Finally the circle is complete

I have finally given in to family pressure. I have created a blog! To read my blog you have to realize several things. 1. I am not nice to look at but luckily Rene' is so therefore most pictures will be of her. 2. I can not spell and I don't have very good grammer, if this bothers you then don't read my blog. 3. I will be posting completed furniture projects on this blog and I expect lots of adoration for my craftsmanship. So without any further a due I give you FurnitureBarlows.blogspot.com
